Source and Injectors Service Activity Report

The Sources and Injectors Service is in charge of all the ion sources delivering beams to the main accelerators installed at LNL. In particular, both negative and positive ions can be produced: the first are extracted from two identical sputtering-type negative ion sources, model "860C" developed by HV Engineering [1]; the second are produced by a full permanent magnet Electron Cyclotron Resonance ion source (ECRIS), named LEGIS (LEGnaro ecrIS) and built by Pantechnik [2]. The activity performed in 2014 dealt not only with the production of beams for nuclear physics experiments, but also with the development of new ones and the refurbishment of some installations, aiming at improving the reliability. A description will be given in the following.
